To celebrate the launch of East London’s 162A Records and the release of Spectrum 311’s
debut single, ‘Lying Eyes’, the label will be hosting a launch party at the infamous
‘On The Rocks’ venue in deepest, darkest Shoreditch!!!

Spectrum 311 are a three-piece band from North London, consisting of lead singer
Callum Johnston, Barney Monk on guitar and Jamie Nash on drums.
The band (named after their favourite Hydroponic lamp) are best described as a culture clash between hip hop, soul and ska, all blended together with a unique pop sensibility!
This is the first release for 162A Records and has been remixed by the irrepressible
Simian Mobile Disco. Further remixes are due from Juan Maclean (DFA Records)
and Oscar Fullone (Mish Mash).

On the night, the band will be joined by…

Simian Mobile Disco, playing a f**ked up selection of electro, hip hop, acid rock, dancehall and booty bass… with live remixes and a few Simian exclusives thrown in for good measure.
These boys have supported the likes of N*E*R*D and Air in recent months and regularly
host events at ex-East End strip club / boozer The Spread Eagle, with the likes of
David Holmes, Goldfrapp and Ladytron propping up the bar!

DJ Calcuts aka Callum Johnston (the lead singer from Spectrum 311)
will be cutting it up on the turntables…

Oscar Fullone, a regular at the hugely successful Mish Mash events at Cargo and 93 Feet East,
will also be providing some vinyl entertainment and a sneak preview of his
remix for Spectrum 311…

Vocal support is being supplied by the elusive MC Ras B (aka Skitzi B), who has worked with
the likes of The Bug, Adrian Sherwood (On-U-Sound) and Andy Weatherall. Expect plenty
of manic conscious toasting and the occasional melody!
