HOUSE
MUSIC INYOURFACE - SATURDAY 15th FEBRUARY
03
The
Askew Bar launch for their Saturday Night
Special was launched by Ourselves House Music
Inyourface with our own DJ's : Andy Woodstock
- Frenzy ( Larnch Turner & Rusell Hilliard
) - Big Dave -
playing House & Garage
The Askew is a old local pub turned now into
a trendy bar that's offers house music
every Friday & Saturday night from 8pm-1am.
Our
night started at about 8pm with DJ Andy Woodstock
playing nice smooth Garage then getting full on
house by 10pm - Andy Woodstock:
"Nice crowd to play to, really should have
enjoyed it but the set up(Decks, mixer,Monitor?)
was a joke but that's life, you do tend to find
these bad set ups more in bars so I was glad when
10 O'clock came so I could go and have a few drinks
and relax as it was hard work playing on that
set. I have always played on Technics so to have
played on these decks which I rather not mention
since I am going to come straight out and say
are CRAP, Come on Guys sort it out you need Technics
in the house! To tell the truth if I had known
about the decks I would not have played so imagine
my horror when I looked down at the decks to see
no Technics and a bar full of 250 people. I would
like to say sorry to Frenzy for making them work
so hard as DJing should be fun, this was totally
hard work to put it in a nice way, have no fear
guys I will make it up to you mark my words!"
Frenzy are a duo that have played in most clubs
including Ministry of Sound with Russell playing
first, and always followed by the other half Larch
Turner.
So at 10pm Russell Hilliard from Frenzy come on
to give you house at its best, the other half
of Frenzy Larch Turner then finished us off with
his harder house style, all in all we kept with
our plan of supplying the night with all styles
of House music and bringing back the meaning of
House Music, One Music One House!
The Night was great cool staff that kept the drinks
flowing as the bar does tend to get a bit hectic,
you also have a Nice food menu as I noticed my
sister and her boy friend getting stuck into some
nice food, I know the food nice as Dan's a chef
so if he enjoyed it then its got my vote of confidence.
The Askew is a cool bar to come to at the weekend
to start of your night and listen to DJ's play
house music and is always busy at weekends with
a capacity of around 200-250. It really is the
only bar in shepherds Bush that I would recommend
to go to, Keep up dated by checking out more info
at our bar events pages, you can find the Askew
