On Friday 18th July 2003 I headed down to Herbal in Kingsland road for the Basement Party. I do have to say I did get down there very late and I would say to arrive early as it does get packed out. If you do arrive late like me then you may have to spend a while in the queue which I hate doing.

After about 10 minutes we did manage to get in and the whole place was packed out with people Jumping around to Drum & Bass.

I had come to The Basement party because I wanted to hear a different style of House Music which is of course Drum & Bass. All the different styles of music we have today evolved from either House Music or Garage, that really is the simple fact of Life. The reason I have pointed this out is because this site is of course called "House Music Inyourface", and a lot of people will think how can I be listing a review for a Drum & Bass party on a house music web site, because of the
simple fact that really its all House music or Garage, in fact House music to me is just
another way of saying Dance Music.

It has been many years since I had really listened to Drum & Bass so I was eager to see what was in store for me. The first thing that I really noticed was MC Wrec who was cool as he knew when to talk and when to let the tune just roll, the whole place was really hot due to the amount of energy been put in to dancing to the drum & bass tunes.

The venue was very dark which gave it that underground feeling along with the banging system prevented me chatting to some girls I had meet in the main room but it was all good as I if I wanted to chat then really I was in the wrong room, this room was all about the music.

Even if it had been many years since I had been to a Drum & Bass event I have to say the music was banging and the scene has surly come along way since the days of such pirate stations like Weekend Rush & Cool FM.

I relized this even more as I left and collected more flyers promoting Drum & Bass nights at various locations. Well it really was a great night and it has given me the taste to go to more Drum & Bass parties in the future, and in the coming months I will be adding a Drum & Bass section to this site.
