We have yet again paid tribute to the great
AKA bar London, This time round Code-ex were
playing host to the London Crowds yet again
accumulating their 365 fifth day as monthly
hosts.
We entered the place with great expectation
as the door staff kindly greeted us through
the glass entrance, stunned as we entered we
were hit by the cosmic motion of all the lights
from within. Tastefully lit, however quite bright
which worried us for 10 minutes or so until
things slowly
sped up and the night drew in.
We relaxed and acclimatized ourselves to the
mood and surroundings, which wasn't hard since
we had a few looseners (Malibu & Pineapple)
before hand! We sat back at the bar sipping
on our chilled beer and toasted to the rest
of the night, we knew we were in for a treat
as Freddie Barbie took the helm.

I was immediately drawn by her presence on and
off the Decks and most pleasantly surprised
by the mixture of the music she was playing.
Scantily cladded she got on with her duty and
played us into the night with great esteem and
confidence. Stylish electronic dance tunes being
mixed with harmonic and tantalising grooves
giving us the impression that, "this one knows
what people want!"
As
styles go, usually few and far between these
days! Her sounds were identifiable as a little
eccentric however refreshing. She would feel
the urge to interrupt a bangin beat and throw
in rock tune for example, which went down well
and added some diversity.
Next
up: Nico De Ceglia,
what are we saying? We're saying Italian
yes, stylish yes but Euro Trash NO WAY!! As
you'd expect things were getting a little heated
by now and we ready for the evening to explode
with the DJ NICO's beats which tore up the floor
and saw people flood threw the doors. This gave
the
perfect opportunity for the glamorous party
goers out there to make an entrance.
This is exactly what we have come to expect
from a venue such as the AKA.
Having
been on the floor from minute one I decided
it was time to get the peoples reaction to the
progress of the night. Reactions such as "It's
all about Wednesday nights here at Code-Ex"
9-fivers saying
"Work can wait tomorrow, we come here every
week and wouldn't miss out".
Truly a great vibe which was a pleasure to be
a part of.

On Steps: Tom Stephan.
Imagine it you've been tantalized and teased
by Freddie Barbie, DJ NICO steps up and projects
and
aura of sophistication and tunes sending us
silly. Now prepare to be stunned and sent home
with a buzz which for a Wednesday night is simply
unfair.
Tom
Stephan comes along with Electronic bang bang,
that's all I can say, superb a great set.
Claudio Basile set was well met by
the crowds, the change in music progressed unnoticed
which in my opinion is a welcomed one. This
team of DJ’s seem to flow and isn’t inhibited
by their own signatures. “A great bunch not
only to hear but also to watch.”
I had
a great time and felt that more venues across
London should learn from this type of event,
however simplicity at it’s finest. The relaxed
Mediterranean way of life really shines through
these guys
and is met by us Londoners with open arms.
What a great time we can't wait for the next
invitation, look forward to seeing you again.
