wasn't
too sure what to title the email so just thought since
there are so many things going on and things coming
up I would simply call this email DEMI-WORLD and what
is happening in it right now and
in the months to come.
So much has been happening the past few months, both
with events I have been fortunate enough to be involved
in and decisions on the future with a lot of things.
First off I played my first ever festival at the amazing
EXIT 04 in Serbia about 20 miles outside Belgrade. I
was opening up the Global Underground tent and had an
unreal time playing. I remember the sight of about 30
odd people down in the mudbath in front of me and about
an hour into my set the number had risen to about 1,000
people.
Fantastic crowd and atmosphere and looking forward to
coming back again.
Massive big-up to festival organiser Paxton for delivering
the goods.
have
an up-coming US/Canada tour during August (dates are
listed below). Cannot wait again to continue with my
bi-monthly residency at Boa, Toronto (www.boa-redux.com)
and play again one of those long windy mind-bending
funk fuelled sets I love most for the Boa faithful.
Love you guys and have those
dancing shoes polished up and ready for the workout!
So many highlights from the tour but definitely looking
forward to my debut at arguably one of San Francisco's
favourite club venues Ruby Skye. Have heard much about
the venue www.rubyskye.com
and am thankful for Ross and the rest of the promotions
team for giving me this great opportunity
to entertain the folks there. See you on the 21st!

Of
course with me absent from the UK, I will unfortunately
be missing only for the second time my beloved
Deeper Substance residency. However, the line-up
is still stellar and am delighted to feature
on the night two of Bedrock's favourite DJ's,
the resident himself Phil Thompson (MoonFace
- http://www.moonface.org)
and the ever popular and talented Jonathan Lisle
(http://www.mtheoryrecords.co.uk
).
Jonathan will be making his fourth appearance
now at the club and his profile has been soaring
this past year and was voted 86th best DJ in
the Top 100 DJ Poll 2003.

There is much to be said about these two talents
so please show your support for what will be
an excellent night of great house music and
breaks. Music conductor for the night will be
our very own star resident Alex Sansford conducting
proceedings along with DJ Dennis. There are
limited advance tickets available for only £5
so would advice to please purchase early to
avoid disappointment. Click on the link here
for advance ticket purchase - http://www.ticketweb.co.uk/user/?region=uk&query=detail&event=104179
The Rhythm Factory has
also undergone a major facelift and improved
sound system installed. I took the opportunity
to check out the venue the other week and was
gobsmacked with the extent to the changes. The
place in short looks terrific and big credit
to our beloved Jonny `Rhythm` and the rest of
his staff for really going to town with the
club. I cannot wait to come back in September
to play again at the club
As well as Deeper Substance, I am sure many
of you will already be aware of a new residency
I will be taking up on the other side of town
in the ever popular NottingHill area. Fortune
is a fresh new London clubnight based around
bringing widely travelled guests, residents
and friends alike to the stage with the focus
purely on a very eclectic selection of live
music Along with Ashley Casselle we will strive
to bring an array of varied experience and contacts
in providing our very own tribute to music neatly
packaged with that much required niche vibe
for a mid week affair in West London that we
believe
has been lacking in recent times.
The inaugural Fortune event will hit London's
Neighbourhood venue THIS Thursday on 5th August.
Crazy P e n i s is the first Live artist to
feature in our selection of eclectic genre bending
sounds. The guys will be promoting his '24 Hour
Psychedelic Freakout' on Shiva Records (released
a few weeks back) The night is a relatively
early one for those of you with work on Friday,
running from 7 until 2, and is set to bring
something interesting to the pre weekend festivities
around London. We have loads of goodies and
prizes we plan to give away on the night so
in order to win CD's, t-shirts, free drinks
even a pair of lucky pants???? You must arrive
between 7pm-10pm. There will also be Happy Hour
drinks running for this three hour period so
no excuses from everybody. Come straight over
to the club after a long hard day at work and
let us unwind and relax you with musical therapy
for your minds. Tickets on the door are only
£6 if you arrive before 9pm but you can still
purchase limited advance tickets on TicketWeb
for only £4.
Other news in brief as well, I will be making
my debut at London's Ministry of Sound for Wally
Lopez's new album launch. I will be spinning
all night alongside the Pacha resident DJ in
the BOZ. Again very much looking forward to
the gig. It's been too long since I was last
at the club but guarantee will be a great night
of music by Wally and myself. Following on from
MOS, I will be returning to Ibiza this year
playing at one of Pacha's flagship nights Pure
Pacha. Host with the most Pete Tong will be
conducting proceedings for the evening with
myself and Laurent Garnier making an appearance
behind the decks. Again a major highlight to
be playing with such distinguished DJ's and
an honour to be asked back by the club to spin.
On a final note, goes to show that hard work
can pay off in the end and was delighted to
receive news from both the Pacha DJ awards people
and the House Music Awards panel that I had
been nominated in the Best Newcomer DJ and Best
Breakthrough DJ respectively. I literally fell
of my chair when told of the news especially
with some of the talent on show. Where do I
fit in there????
hahaha Voting for both ceremonies has now officially
open.
www.djawards.com
www.housemusicawards.com/vote/vote.php
If
I could send a fiver in the post to everybody
to vote for me I would ....but I won't....ha
but of course awards ceremonies should be about
celebrating the very best elements of the industry
we are in and the talent who have been performing
consistently at the highest level to crowds
worldwide. In short everyone is a winner as
far as I am concerned so best of luck to everybody.
No doubt it will be a super fun evening out
for everybody involved. Please vote and show
your support for these awards that recognise
the talented individuals who work hard to succeed
in this industry. OK WHAT I MEANT TO SAY WAS
VOTE FOR Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee......hahaha....(joke
aside!)
Ok, it is 30 degrees outside and I intend to
savour as much of the hot weather here as possible.
You know it ain't going to last for long....
much love and respect
DEMI
