Host
Demi returns from his hectic US/ Canada tour with a
special one off live extravaganza with some of the finest
Live Acts show featuring
16 BIT LOLITA'S
Making their exclusive UK debut, hailing from
Amsterdam, these 2 guys have been blowing up all over
their homeland supporting Sander Kleinenberg on his
EVERYBODY tour and playing alongside some of the biggest
names on the planet. A hectic summer schedule of festival
gigging across Europe has helped catapult these guys
in Europe and now it is time for them to
make their mark here in the UK
PARALLEL SOUND
Parallel Sound are original and are pushing
boundaries, adapting and evolving with the ever-changing
club scene. Using the most up to date technology and
techniques, they have their own cutting edge angle on
house and breakbeat music, resulting in an original
and unique new sound.
Along with residents Alex Sansford and Dennis, this
is a night not to be missed also featuring
ROOM 2: HOSTED BY DNA X-ma P, John Tremayne and guest
David Rose
I
was back on the road for most of August with the first
stop at my bi-monthly residency at Boa in Toronto. Again
another outstanding night with the party going till
9am. Thank you to everybody there in Toronto for making
the place like a second home to me. The Boa crowd there
are something else and looking forward already to the
next instalment on the Sat 23rd October. This will follow
my debut at the awesome legendary STEREO venue in Montreal.
I have heard and still continue to hear incredible stories
from many close friends / DJ's who have played there
and am honoured
to be able to give to Stereo back for giving me such
an opportunity.
The date for this will be Friday 22nd October.
The rest of the tour went incredibly well and big thanks
to Liz especially in Denver for looking after me and
what turned out to be a monstrous afterhours gig at
the 2AM venue. Moving onto LA
, the two gigs both at for STOMPING GROUND PRODUCTIONS
and the late announcement of
the tag team up with DJ Chloe Harris were both nights
where too much fun was had.
The camera doesn't lie as they say and all is revealed
in the Gallery section of the website.
There were two other notable gigs to mention. San Diego
at the L5 venue was a fun intimate affair even managed
to brush down some old James Brown material which was
fun to bang out again. In the same venue in the other
room was none other than DJ Jazzy Jeff playing. I will
admit I was a huge fan of the Fresh Prince of Bel Air
and was a great experience watching Jazzy WORK THIS
THING.....Incredible display of turntabilism and even
had me hollering away for a good half hour. GOOD TIMES
:) One major highlight and achievement for me during
this tour was my debut at one of San Francisco's legendary
venues Ruby Skye. A massive massive thank you to Ross
and especially my good friend `Trevor from Mixed Elements`
(how many times he has heard that....lol)...This was
a special night for me and was amazed by the feedback
and well wishes from everybody.
After
last month's fantastic turnout for FORTUNE which had
the awesome Crazy P e n i s lay down the funk, we swiftly
move onto this week's special event with NagNagNag's
very own set of superstars, THE ATOMIZER. They will
be bringing their incredible energy and positive attitude
to Neighbourhood. Limited advance tickets are still
available through ticketweb for only £4 at
www.ticketweb.co.uk/user
print
this flyer off for reduced entry on the night as well
I have two dates in Ibiza this
month and am super pumped for this Friday's huge Pure
Pacha
night with the mega host himself Pete Tong and mega
special guest Laurent Garnier...
and little me of course commencing proceedings :)
3rd September: PACHA with Laurent Garnier & Pete Tong
7th September: EL PRIVADO - San Rafael (downtempo set
for the evening)
The
first ever global House Music Awards winners will be
announced to a house loving crowd
and the cream of the industry on Thursday 4th November
at Ben Watt's excellent new London venue, Neighbourhood.
The event will focus on live!, with some of house music's
hottest acts performing on the night. Radio 1 Essential
Selection will be featuring guest mixes and profile
pieces on Award winners later this year. They will also
be at the event to record the
best bits of the night and interview crowd members for
broadcast on the show.
The House Music Awards are unique because they are decided
entirely by the people that live & love the music. They
look set to become an essential event on dance music’s
calendar. The voting has begun for this year's awards
and will be asking and calling on your votes in
the BEST BREAKTHROUGH DJ category which I have been
nominated in. www.housemusicawards.com/vote/signup.php
Thank you once again for the continued support

AND
FINALLY....THAT TIME OF THE YEAR AGAIN ALREADY????
|
Yes
believe it or not it is also time for voting in the
DJ magazine top 100 poll. Whether this is seen as a
popularity contest or not, this poll more than any other
has clearly shown the effects it can have on every DJ's
professional career. VOTE FOR CHANGE as a good friend
of mine mailed me about and he was spot on. THIS YEAR
VOTE FOR CHANGE. Vote for deserved talent, vote for
the DJ's who have rocked your boat, who have shown hard
graft and determination as well as
their musical gift to entertain you.
would say VOTE FOR `DEMI` as well if you're still stuck
on who to vote for so please feel free to if you want
`loony, can't keep still when he is playing, wears funny
flower power tops who plays occasionally good music`...THAT'S
MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE :)
Last year a record-breaking 61,529 votes were received
through the DJ mag website from 120 different countries,
and all expectations are for 2004's total to be even
bigger. Music is truly a wonderful global force that
can help unite us all so make your votes count. www.djmag.com/vote.asp
