Defected
In The House keeps on getting better and better.
As ever we promise to deliver the newest tracks
from the best DJ's every month.
This month, put your hands together and give it
up for one legendary Brian Tappert and John Julius
Knight... Soulfuric is In the House! This is the
album launch party you've been waiting for...
Brian Tappert and John Julius
Knight are the ambassadors of this humungous
American house imprint. Over the past 8 years
it has produced some of the finest dance music
in clubbing history. We are all guilty of loving
it. If you ask any house music DJ who they respect
then Soulfuric will be their main contender. Based
in Florida, USA, Soulfuric Recordings have been
around now since 1996. Started by fellow producers
Brian Tappert and Marc Pomeroy, the label has
grown from a relatively small independent into
a one of the best recognised and well-respected
house music imprints in the world. The two figurehead
DJ's (also know in another life as The Cleptomainiacs)
have played the UK many times and they have a
superb soulful house style that moves onto pumping
and sometimes tribal grooves. They really rock
the dancefloor. Playing on 6 decks
and 2 mixers in the well stocked MOS booth these
guys will really be able to show you
how they do their thing Florida style.
Warming up for this dynamic duo is Ron
Carol. For those of you who are not familiar
with this powerful vocalist and DJ, then listen
up. This Chicago gospel house master was brought
up with rhythm in his blood. He has a distinctive
and churchy style and is responsible for bringing
us house classics like ‘A new day’ and 'I get
lifted' (incidentally produced by Little Luis
Vega). Overall he is best known as the voice of
the monster track Back Together by Dutch production
duo Hardsoul.
He based the song around relationships and little
was he to know that the song was to become
one of the most distinctive tracks of the year.
This is really a great treat to see him doing
this
track live and doing a DJ set too.
That's not all... In the bar we aim to please
with the announcement that we have Hardsoul
confirmed to blast you with their sublime
and soulful sounds. They are aptly named, as the
music they play is soulful and funky with an edge.
We couldn't have Ron Carol here without these
guys. These Rotterdam born brothers are really
making waves and they are Soulfurics premier artists
who will ride high with the success of their release.
Also on the remix tip we have one of Defected's
most notorious producers and DJ's Warren
Clarke. One half of the notorious Labrats,
this talented individual is fresh from remixing
Martin Solveigs Rocking Music to much high acclaim
from Radio Ones Pete Tong and Lottie, he is making
a
rare DJ appearance for us at Defected In The House.
Catch him while you can.
Next on the bill are the notorious Copyright
aka Sam Holt and Gavin Mills. These guys are no
stranger to the Ministry's DJ booth and they never
fail to deliver exactly what everyone expects,
the dopest of soulful house sounds everytime.
They are still coming down from a high in Miami,
(not that kind of high!) they had the fortune
to do an impromptu set at Defected Miami party
with Kenny Dope, Bob Sinclar, Gregory, Dimitri
From Paris Martin Solveig and Jazzy Jeff .
What a line-up to be on. Respect.
And finally we welcome Raymondo
Rodriguez once again, a guy who has a heavy
South American influence who will start off the
proceedings gently with funky and chunky soulful
vocals
and the obvious choice of Latin tinge beats.
Extra: Defected Forum Party
As an extra bonus this month sees the Baby Box
host the first 'Defected Web Site Mix' winners
party - for the last 3 months we have been scanning
over 150 DJ Mixes, sent in as part of an ongoing
on-line talent search we've been running on our
site to bring a line up of unsung hero's to our
club nights. In The House April sees Mark Andrews,
Chris Nobles, Liam Wood, Andy Daniels and Tim
Wright step to the hallowed deck at this now legendary
of club nights - we guarantee it will not be the
last time you hear these DJ's. The mixes will
feature monthly on our site.

Love all the heads at Defected.
