Funky
House presented by Serious Records in true
house style saw Saturday 7th February 04 as
the Launch Party of 6 exclusive parties themed
by the letters D-U-S-T-E-D. Dressed in theme
will gain
you and your friends guest entry at the concession
rate of £15 so be Daring!
An ordaly queue for memebers/guestlist plus
paying moved swiftly as we entered the main
doors
to the exquisite venue. The cloakroom lay
a head; my attention was distracted when I
noticed the association of 'D' with Drag Queens,
Dior Handbags, Devilish horns,
Diamond Earrings and Daring Denim.
In the main room tonight entering the DJ Box
were the likes of Lenny Fontana, Grant Nelson,
Seamus Haji and Rob Marmott were set to entertain
the Dusted Crowd that had gathered.
Tribal sounds of house music, mixed classics
"Pump Up The jam" originally by Salt & Pepper
and
"Its Your Birthday" by 50 Cent were also played.
Red lights also fitting the theme for Valentines
Day
to come softly lit the entire main floor.
The letters 'D' in dazzling silver glitter
were
suspended above the center of the main dance
floor. Satin fabric elegantly draped high
up
from the ceiling added to the lavish theme
and the sound quality was profound
and perfectly balanced.
The funky crowd of passionate clubbers smiley
faces meant all the elements for a
great Launch night were already established.
Along the right hand wall stretched a bar
stocking a variety of alcoholic mixers ranging
from £4-6, all the bar staff were efficient
and very friendly. A raised platform located
towards the back wall was the stage for the
2 stunning and talented dancers.
The exit by the stage was divided by lace
curtains which led to a chill out lounge
with over sized sofas and large wooden tables,
potted palm trees were gently lit up,
creating a tranquil setting.
The lavatory area was set at the back, well
lit and very clean. The lit staircase led
to room 2,
where the twisted sound of funky house was
astounding mixed by Chibuku Shake Shake, Don
Cheung residents of the year. The room was
Comfortably crowded with people whose energy
filled the entire room. Clubbers spread, dancing
right back to the bar which was serving a
wide variety
of drinks, the DJ Box was set against the
back wall.
Entry to the VIP lounge was via a small doorway
where a small bar carted for the terrace area,
also comprising of seated area with tables.
The terrace overlooking the main room, where
pulsating coloured lights, gentle strobe lights
and
bursts of dry ice pumped out into the air.
The terrace continued onto a wide bar area
again boosting
a lively funky crowd dancing the night away.
The entire venue was filled with an overwhelming
aura,
truly an amazing atmosphere! I would say keep
your eyes peeled for
future Dusted Parties, and thanks for a great
night out!
