Turnmills is proud to announce the exclusive World Launch Party for the new
Technics CD Decks DZ1200.

On Saturday 14th February 2004, Turnmills are proud to announce the exclusive World Launch Party for the new Technics CD Decks DZ1200. This night also represents the first Technics event of 2004, as they begin their brand new bi-monthly Saturday night residency. Although the CD Decks will not go on general sale until May 2004, Turnmills will be the first club in the world to house the new CD Deck and Washington’s Grammy Award winning DJ duo, Deep Dish have been chosen to launch this revolutionary new bit of kit with a special 6 Hour main room set.

During the summer of 2003, Turnmills hosted 5 huge midweek events in association with Technics, featuring some of the World’s biggest players including two parties from Deep Dish (including the first ever event, which co-in sided with the launch of the Technics MK5G 1200 turntable), plus extra long sets from Danny Howells, Felix Da Housecat and Satoshi Tomiie.

Deep Dish aka Ali ‘Dubfire’ Shirazinia and Sharam Yayebi are the perfect choice to launch the new Technics CD decks especially as they’re amongst the top flight spinners who have forsaken vinyl, with between 80% and 100% of their sets coming from CDs. In fact they’re enthusiastic about CDs to the point of being fully involved in research and development for Technics’
new digital deck.
“I don’t see vinyl having a future,” explains Sharam. “It will merely be a collector’s item in the next few years. Not only are CDs very practical, they’re also very flexible. There’s so much you can do with a CD player – you can loop, reverse, effect the song in many ways and all with the touch of a button.”

Joining Deep Dish in the main room will be Behrouz, the new resident for Technics. Behrouz is a major player in the Deep Dish / Yoshitoshi camp and the perfect choice to warm up for Washington’s finest. The backroom will be hosted by DJ Magazine featuring David James and Villeneuve - two of their favourite up-and-coming DJs,
plus Stuart Hirst who won DJ Magazine’s recent DJ competition.
