South Central Presents… The History of Hip-Hop
You’re
invited to ‘Release Yourself’ with Roger
Sanchez on Saturday 7th August for the second
time this year, exclusively at Turnmills.
The S-Man blitzed into London back in June
to launch the third chapter of his Release
Yourself compilation and man, did Sanchez
rock it – the night was easily
one of the best parties he’s ever done here
(but then we say that every time don’t we?!)
Having launched Release Yourself in Ibiza
the other week, Roger’s back in the capital
for another blistering UK assault and the
obligatory 8 Hour Set. If you put into context,
have you ever tried doing your job for 8
Hours continuously without a break?? Ok,
so you don’t get to fly around the world
every weekend or live the lavish lifestyle
that he does… but damn, Roger works harder
than a kebab shop owner after the pub’s
have kicked out… and for 8 Hours as well,
non-stop in the mix!! The man is quite simply
a legend.
The Rub will be hosting Room 2 this time
round, so expect an eclectic and inspired
range of music covering everything from
hip hop beats, bashment, broken beats and
urban grooves to punk-funk, twisted Italo-disco,
mutant electro, proto-house and old skool
classics. DJs on rotation will be Sneaker,
Mr Chex of Beatoven Records and Richard
Sen. Hop over to the Lounge Room and you’ll
find the complete History of Hip Hop being
played out by the South Central crew to
top another cool as f*@k Release Yourself
session, to go hand-in-hand with this year’s
Urban street theme. Respect.
