Welcome to the new Sedition DJs newsletter giving
you information about where you can catch our
DJs playing over the next few days. Our next big
event is the Going Places first birthday party
at The Gallery on Friday, August 20th complete
with our very own boat party to get the fun started
early. Look out for the next instalment of UP
on Saturday, August 28th too...

GOING
PLACES Friday , August 20th - Turnmills,
63b Clerkenwell Road, London EC1
|
Going
Places - 'Adventures in International House Music'
- takes over the second room at The Gallery for
'Best of British Part 2' with Deepgroove on 4
dex 'n' efx live on stage, Living City and Tania
von Pear vs Lisa German. Following last month's
riotous 'Best of British Part 1' where the insignificant
Others, Andy Price, Jafar and Rare Unit flew the
flag, next Friday should see more of the same
with the hotly-tipped Deepgroove from Bristol
playing a special 4 dex 'n' efx set where they
will be mashing it in fine style
and throwing all kinds of acappellas, beats and
general craziness in the mix. Expect to hear a
healthy crop of their own productions too.
Before that Resident Tania von Pear will be taking
to the decks with new partner-in-crime Lisa German
- already well known to the Gallery faithful,
of course - as they launch their new German Pear
project. Expect plenty of tough and chunky house
beats with a smattering of breaks as they show
the boys a thing or two about how to make the
party rock. Rounding the night off will be another
up-and-coming duo by the name of Living City who
will be unleashing a selection of the finest acid-flavoured
tech house beats.
This is a night not to be missed if you want to
hear some of the UK's finest young DJs and producers
in action - especially as it's also our first
birthday party!
Getting the party started will be a talented young
DJ by the name of Brent Clark, while it's techno
all the way in the main room with special guests
Marco Bailey, Valentino Kanzyani and The Youngsters
set to give the Gallery blueprint a special twist.
Support comes from John Askew and Tim Davison,
while City Funk Sui host the third room.
That's not all, of course, because the fun starts
at 8pm as we present the Going Places Boat Party
to celebrate our first birthday. It all takes
place from 8pm to midnight aboard the Miyuki Maru
which will set sail from Swan Pier near Monument.
The Miyuki Maru has a well-stocked and reasonably
priced bar with an upstairs dancefloor and outdoor
sun deck - check it out by visiting www.thamesleisure.co.uk
Music will be supplied by our good friends Ash
Prema, Baa Baa, Marc Houlihan (you may remember
him from the June Going Places) and Gallery resident
and Balearic legend Steve Lee. Welcoming you onboard
will be Naughty Nurse Paula and there'll be a
few surprises and nautical foolishness along the
way too. Surely there can be no finer way to spend
a summer's evening than sailing down the Thames
to the accompaniment of the best in house grooves...
Then it's all down to The Gallery where the party
will continue in the customary Going Places take-no-prisoners
style. Swan Pier is only a short cab ride from
Turnmills, so four people in a cab shouldn't cost
more than £1.50 each. Not only is it Going Places’
first birthday but the Sedition DJs head honcho
and your captain for the night will be celebrating
his recent birthday. You have been warned... tickets
are £20 for both the boat party and The Gallery
afterwards which is fantastic value and we can
deliver prior
to the day itself - full details to follow next
week.
Tickets
priced at £20 are on sale now but selling fast
- for details call
Matthew on 07957 112723 or e-mail matthew@seditiondjs.com
You can also buy tickets
online by visiting www.ticketweb.co.uk

August 28th - Rhythm Factory, 16-18 Whitechapel
Road, London E1
|
Advance
warning: House hedonists UP join forces with Sedition
DJs for their third party as they take over the
Rhythm Factory in Whitechapel. The Rhythm Factory
combines Shoreditch cool
with a gritty East End warehouse feel and is the
perfect home for the UP blend of uplifting
funky house coupled with dirty house and breaks.
Supplying
the four-to-the-floor funk-fuelled frolics in
the UP Boudoir will be Filthy Rich, Rob Marmot,
Brad 212 Finlay, Indy500, Dragan, Richard Launch,
Paul Henry and Jody Osman, while over in the Dirty
House & Breaks Den the insignificant Others and
Marc Houlihan will
be joined by J-Me and Steelo of Allstars fame.
Dress UP to get down in
your finest glamorous attire at this gathering
of house music's finest!
Full details to follow next week but the £10
paying guest list is already filling up fast,
