There
are less than three months until 070707 commences
and as the word spreads of this scintillating debut
festival more and more people are sitting up and paying
attention. Straddling all forms of great electronic
music, from techno and house through to psy-trance
and breaks over to trance and hard house through
to drum and bass and countless live performances too,
each of the 8 stages for this 3-day and
night extravaganza holds so much to anticipate and
enjoy.
Arguably the Techno Stage is looking like one of the
places to be right from the off. Hosted by two of
the UK's most influential nocturnal sessions - the
Nottingham based Firefly and Birmingham located Atomic
Jam - they have together brought in an explosive mix
of live acts and DJs of such quality they alone could
form a mini festival in its own right! Because after
much planning and many phone calls, the cream of global
and national techno talent as been drawn together,
pooled for Friday and Saturday in Stage C - a 2000
capacity indoor part of the festival. To say it's
a bit of a jaw-dropper is something of an understatement,
but the special guests include: Speedy J Live, Technasia
Live, Blackstrobe Live with DJ sets from Adam Beyer,
Ade Fenton, British Murder Boys, Celtec Twinz, Chris
Finke, Digitalism, Green Velvet, Fergie, Hot Chip,
James Holden, Josh Wink, Nick Grater, Peter Wel, Ross
Vs Moon, Thomas Schumacher and Thrash Jelly on four
decks and two mixers! Each guest has been specifically
chosen by the promoters based on their ability to
knock
the living daylights out of the crowd (in a good way)
and it's testament to the vision of all involved that
such a varied, respected and hugely talented group
have been recruited for what promises to be one
of this year's freshest festival events. With the
licence for 15,000 just approved, it's looking rather
good indeed for 070707 which takes place Friday 6th
July to Sunday 8th 2007.
