This
Friday September 10th a new chapter
has opened in the ongoing story of
Music 4 Life, the unique Oxfam volunteer-organised
club night and record fair. Having
outgrown it's home at the Jay Cubed
Bar, Angel after 3 events, M4L has
hooked up with the underground deep-
house and breaks heroes Junktion and
moved to the award winning Kings Cross
clubbers' oasis The Egg, for the 2ndFriday
of every month. The 'Make Trade Fair'
fundraiser lanches this week with
DJ sets from Mylo, Organic Audio,
Ashley Caselle, Mark Thomas (Mark
Thomas Comedy Project) Mint Royale,
Keith O'Rielly (Fabric owner) and..
plus the record fair and 'The Volunteers'
playing the cream of the Oxfam shop
music crates to buy and sell.
For
some, producing dance music is a natural
step. Not for 24-year-old Scot, Myles
MacInnes. From a childhood on the
Isle of Skye, low life in London and
Paris and academia in Oxford and Los
Angeles he returned to Scotland with
one purpose - to submerge himself
in music. Now, three years later,
his debut album is rocking the world
with a stack of jaw-dropping tracks.
Taking influences ranging from seventies
intellectuals Steely Dan and eighties
soft-rockers Toto to current producers
like Akufen and Chicken Lips, it's
no wonder the results are so startling.
Whilst his live sets highlight his
full range of music his DJ sets still
hit the mark.
