From
illegal busted beach party to Sundays at
Space, nastydirtysexmusic has
been the success story of this year in Ibiza.
The cast of this delightful folly are:
Smokin' Jo, international superstar DJ
. Tim Sheridan, Jockey Slut writer and resident
DJ for Home, Manumission and Space
. Joe Upton, face about Ibiza old town and
promotions engine.

Together these three have taken the underground
attitude of Do It Yourself and shown us
all that it's very possible to start as
a free party with your mates and take it
through to the top. No industry, no contacts.
Just a soundsystem, a beach and great music.
While numbers have been down all over the
island and people moan and complain, nastydirtysexmusic
was roadblocked and eventually shut down
as a public order hazard by Ibicenco Police
due to the massive numbers trying to enter
the beach area they started with.
Not deterred they moved from beach to warehouse
to field until being head hunted by Space
to take over their new 'caja roja' or red
room upstairs at the legendary venue. The
formula is simple, Joe Upton runs around
the faces of Ibiza spreading the word, {by
now the people have heard nastydirtysexmusic
is a guaranteed good time} then Smokin and
Sheridan play back to back all night. Only
nastydirtysexmusic makes it onto the decks.

What is nastydirtysexmusic? fairly simply
it is music with a high sexual overtone
and monstrous bass content. It is a word
coined by Tim to describe certain tunes
to Jo in their increasingly specialised
studio language. When you come you'll get
it. Sometimes Breaks, often Electro and
always the Dirtiest of House. It's the best
of all dance music that somehow all sit
perfectly together. It's not a new genre,
but it's pretty close.
Ministry have shown unique forsight in bringing
the nastydirtyvibe back to blighty.
Come and join the party.
