Ministry of Sound has reinstated its treasured
album series the 'Sessions'. the collector's item
of the 90's that converted the club's dancefloor on
to disc.
Originally launched in 1993, 'The Sessions' represented
a clubbers unique experience of a saturday night
at ministry of sound, capturing their favourite night
out whilst incarcerating an era that could be
revisited over and over again.
The first album in the new series is nastydirtysexmusic,
which comes direct from the London venue whilst pulling
inspiration from the beloved beaches of Ibiza. Released
on 13th June and mixed by nastydirtysexmusic founders
Smokin Jo & Tim Sheridan, this album will not only introduce
an exceptional music lesson for all
who listen, but will unite two of the world's most pioneering
and institutional house music establishments,
ministry of sound and Ibiza.
Beginning life on a beach in Ibiza, the nastydirtysexmusic
word has spread rapidly throughout house land taking
in sand, Space, and its current residence Ministry of
Sound. Not only has the night's distinctive and demonstrative
music policy stunned a generation but also its riotous
ambience has turned it into one of the most addictive
events in London. The night's essence lies in its identification,
which governs its musical policy and participant behaviour,
all guided by the rules of nasty, dirty and sexy. It's
pure underground, and with that we mean raw, unspoilt
and unpretentious, for the bona fide lovers of house
music and the feelings that it brings to the surface.
The music draws in nasty vocals, a smattering of electro
and an abundance of in-depth, dirty and twisted basslines
with every genre received as long as it has the underlying
element of filth that qualifies it to be nastydirtysexmusic.
Tracks that stand out on the album include tim & jo's
aptly named track nastydirtysexmusic alongside club
rockers to include 'fruit' sander kleinenberg; 'the
red dress' phonique' (tiefschwarz remix); 'way too long'
audio bullies and 'push your body' sharam jey.
Recorded live at ministry of sound on 9th April, this
double album brings you your very own slice of the nastydirty
pie to keep, cherish and indulge in whenever and wherever
you want. Who says you should wait till Saturday?

Smokin
Jo is unquestionably one of the most
revered dj's of a generation. In a career that
spans nearly 15 years she has become one of
the most iconic and admired DJ's on the international
circuit spanning the fashion, club, gay and
celebrity scene. a celebrity in her own right
Jo has graced the world's finest decks, presented
TV shows, mass produced in the studio and rubbed
shoulders with numerous celebrities as she played
the pet shop boys end of tour party, Grace Jones
concert, Skunk Anansie's album launch party,
Jamiroqaui's tour parties as well as fashion
events including Alexander Mcqueen, Michiko
Koshinos and Julian Macdonald after-show parties.
Her input on the decks and output from the studio
has seen her receive numerous accolades, one
being the only female to win 'dj of the year'
by Dj Mag. there is no mistaking this lady's
prominence on the house music scene.

Tim
Sheridan and his many talents have
seen him grace decks, stage, tv screens and
radio airwaves. One of his most highly acclaimed
projects was his membership to the 'Dope Smugglaz'
the band that brought us 'The Word'; 'Double
Dutch' and 'BARABAJAGAL' with Shaun Ryder. the
first dj to ever play at Glastonbury he has
compiled an extensive list of resident and regular
dj slots at Manumission, Home, Back To Basics,
Cream, Fabric, Aka/The End, Spirit (Dublin)
and Space (Ibiza) to name but a few. His various
productions and remixes have seen him team up
with Jon Carter and Smokin Jo and present unique
spin offs of various tracks from
the Brand New Heavies to The Beach Boys.
