The Key has earned a reputation for being one of the kookiest and most vibrant venues in the capital. Underground yet accessible, intimate yet spacious it is a unique space that offers luxury furnishings offset
by raw, edgy interiors.

So, having fallen in love with the venue a hundred times over, The Key people have decided to start their very own monthly night - SKOOKUM! Bringing together new skool sounds with old skool ethics,
Skookum will ask you to leave your pretensions and preconceptions at the door and come with
an open mind and a party spirit.

Following in the footsteps of some of the most successful club nights of the past few years such as Chibuku Shake Shake and Warm, Skookum will be about creating a family vibe of like minded party people who know their music but also know how to have fun. With residents Dom Chung (Chibuku) and Sean Brosnan (Warm) also taking on promotional duties this is guaranteed to be an up beat house affair for friends old and new.

In fact the residents will form the back bone of the party. Since winning the resident competition for Chibuku back in 2001, Dom Chung is well aware of the role they play in the success of a night and will be committed to ensuring the music is bang on the button each and every party. Similarly, having held numerous residencies with the most prolific being Warm, Sean Brosnan is no stranger to his residential duties and will be an intrinsic part of the Skookum set up.

Stepping up to the Turntables for the first Skookum outing will be the effortlessly brilliant Ashley Beedle with his unwavering musical talents and mesmerising deck displays. Best know as one third of Xpress2 he has independently carved his own niche playing eclectic sets ranging from soul to Chicago house and therefore fits perfectly with the Skookum ethos. Commenting on the booking, promoter Polly Schofield commented:

'Ashley is such a consistently good and well respected DJ and producer that we thought he would be perfect to launch Skookum. He will really rock The Key and kickstart what we hope will be one of the most buzzing nights in the city'

SKOOKUM promises to deliver DJs with depth and a party with a heartbeat. If it falls in the world of dance then you can expect to hear it on the multi coloured Skookum dance floor. Built around a bunch of friends who have sampled the best parties in the UK this promises to show case the best dance music around with the friendliest crowd in town… Who could possibly resist….
