Room 2: Hosted

Parr
Since launching at the tale end of last
year, Stomp has firmly stomped its feet
on the
London club scene. Breathing new life into
Thursday nights, the funky-techno sounds
of
Stomp and resident Trevor Rockcliffe return
to Turnmills for their second party of 2004.
The date for your diaries is Thursday 26th
February and Trevor will be joined by very
special guest Dave Angel. Prolific in his
writing and DJing, Dave Angel has become
one of the freshest and most innovative
musicians on the dance music scene. In 1989
after two weeks recording
at home with two basic turntables, two tape
decks and a child Casio keyboard (yes a
child’s!!), Dave’s first musical excursion
- a remix of The Eurhythmics “Sweet Dreams”
created such a massive buzz in the clubs
that RCA were forced to officially release
the track and incredibly it charted and
climbed to No.23 in the UK National Charts
first time round. Since then and with a
career spanning 15 years, Dave has worked
with some of the very best producers including
Roni Size, Orbital, Underworld, Coxy and
even George Clinton! Together with Trevor
Rockcliffe, Dave Angel will have you stomping
all the way to work on the following Friday
morning as he pairs up with his old pal
for an exclusive Turnmills set. They’ll
also be joined by Gary Collins,
who won last month’s highly fought Stomp
DJ Competition.
Room 2 offers another killer line-up with
Brighton’s relevantly titled and downright
cool
as funk house party specialists, Stompa
Phunk hosting the night. Nominated for ‘Best
Club’ in 2003 by Muzik and heavily involved
in the recent the Radio 1 Weekend in Brighton,
Stompa Phunk have put together a phat line-up
featuring Space resident and
‘Music For Freaks’ maestro Justin Harris
and Stompaphunk resident Tula
(check out her recent Radio 1 Mix). On top
of that Organic Audio aka Andy Spence takes
time out from studio production and movie
soundtracks (tunes of his recent Lovelight
LP were featured in the films Swordfish,
The Fast and the Furious and Mindhunters),
as does Serge Santiago aka Radio Slave,
who last year remixed everyone from Kylie
and Bob Sinclar
to X-Press 2, Tiga and Benny Benassi. Stompa
Phunk’s record label manager and resident
spinner David Parr completes this sleazy
house affair.
DJ Competition
Finally…….. Calling
all Techno and Electro DJs!!! Stomp round
things off in Room 3 with a DJ Competition
of their own featuring 8 DJ hopefuls. Each
DJ will play a 30 minute set, with the overall

Trevor Rockcliffe

Angel.
