Room 2: Stomp DJ Competition

Stomp’s reputation continues to saw with every party and March’s event was one of the best to date with Brazilian Techno don Anderson Noise flying in especially to play. April’s forthcoming event is another line-up to die for, as Stomp resident Trevor Rockcliffe calls in the mighty Christian Smith and Michel De Hey to do the damage behind the decks. The date to get your stomping feet back in the groove is Thursday 22nd April, plus keeping with the tradition of previous parties, they’ll be a DJ Competition taking place in Room 2 for up-and-coming DJs to stake their claim
and win a guest spot at May’s Stomp.

Trevor’s first headliner is Christian Smith – a personal favourite DJ of Carl Cox and a regular guest with the great man on the Terrace at Space every summer in Ibiza. Christian combines a diverse mix of hard pumping house and tribal funky techno, mixing tight on 3 decks, scratching as he goes!! At the age of 17, Christian got his first break with a guest spot at the legendary Omen club, since then Christian has traveled the length and breadth of the world headlining events the globe over. On the production front, Christian releases material on labels like Yoshitoshi, Nervous
and his own label Tronic Music… definitely music to make you Stomp!!

Joining Christian and Trevor will be Michel De Hey. Michel made his UK debut at The Gallery last year and he totally blew the roof off!! It’s therefore no surprise that Stomp are jetting in this awesome Dutch DJ for their own dancefloor destruction. Two “Best Techno DJ” accolades at the Update Dance Awards in Netherlands confirm his growing reputation and together with Trevor and Christian, you’re set for an incredible evening.

Finally, Stomp will be holding a DJ Competition for new up-and-coming DJs to shine under the wing of Trevor Rockcliffe in Room 2. Each DJ will play a 30 minute set, with the overall winner claiming a slot at May’s Stomp (20/5) alongside Trevor Rockcliffe and some very special surprise guests.
