TWith
this night falling on
Friday 5th November, you
could forgive me for saying
that you can expect another
explosive night out at
The Gallery. With it being
Guy Fawkes night n’ all,
you could also say they’ll
be fireworks coming out
of the DJ box!! Crap gags
aside, The Gallery have
pulled together another
emphatically diverse line-up
spread across two rooms.
There’s a bit of something
for everyone this week
from dirty underground
house, through to proggy-breakdowns,
pumping tech-house, breaks
and of course trance to
see the night home. There’s
also two exclusive album
launch parties with main
room headliners Gabriel
& Dresden in town to launch
‘Bloom’, whilst over in
the backroom house music’s
newest hero Nic Fanciulli
launches his new compilation
album ‘Mixmag Live’ with
an extended 4 hour set.
The legendary Hybrid are
back at The Gallery for
another midnight roadblock
session, with Carbon Records
head honcho Jan Carbon
warming things up the
boys. Following hot on
the heels of production
heroes Gabriel & Dresden,
will be Dutch superstar
Remy who last year released
the highly acclaimed Bang
album (no it’s not another
bad 5/11 gag, he really
did… and it’s awesome!!)
Rising trance DJ/Producer
GTR aka Gareth Emery finishes
the night o ff in the
main room, whilst another
big tip for the future
Demi of Deeper Substance
fame, joins Nic Fanciulli
for his hot to trot Fandango
backroom, together with
Simon Ross who’s up first.

The
Gallery goes to town on
Friday 12th November with
a staggering mix of big
time producers and DJs
who’ve really been making
a name for themselves
over the past couple of
years. Gallery father
figure, Tall Paul returns
to the helm after blitzing
the studio over the past
month or so. Joining Paul
in his main room home
will be Border Community
A&R Manager and all round
musical genius James Holden.
He’s never looked back
since producing the classic,
‘Horizons’ in his bedroom
a few years ago and he’s
just completed an extensive
DJ tour, plus 5 new remixes,
including one for Britney!!
Matthew Dekay is another
DJ picking up a few (thousand!)
air miles of late, as
his schedule has taken
him as far as Europe,
South America and Australia
recently. Matthew will
be making his main room
debut at The Gallery this
week as he spins a late
night concoction of proggy-beats
and driving house. Mixmag
Future Hero Petrae Foy
plays his first set of
2004 late on with a spot
of tech-trance, plus there’s
support from Alter Ego
(no, not that one!) and
Lost Language’s Ben Lost.
Over in T2 Rebel Rebel
host a very special backroom
session featuring another
elite group of DJ/Producers.
Slacker will be playing
an exclusive Laptop live
show, which promises to
show off one of the biggest
and best back catalogues
in the business in a unique
and groundbreaking display.
In addition, Norway’s
No.1 DJ Nils Noa continues
to stake his claim as
one of Europe’s hottest
new talents, plus Ashley
Casselle takes time out
from working on his debut
artist album with his
Ashtrax cohorts for Global
Underground to play a
rare London set. This
week’s backroom warm up
is Greg Canning.

The
Gallery goes down the
trance route on Friday
19th November with a full-on
selection of floor-filling
favourites. Leading the
way will be one of the
scene’s biggest purveyors
and all-round Gallery
legend, Judge Jules. Jules’
Radio 1 show continues
to dominate the airwaves
and it must be said, that
he still remains possibly
the hardest working DJ
in the business? Indeed…
the Judge most definitely
won’t budge!! Knocking
on his door though is
Smith & Pledger, The Gallery’s
second headline guests,
who together with Matt
Hardwick, this week’s
third guest, have collaborated
to produce two of the
year’s biggest trance
tunes in “Day One” and
“Connected”. Smith & Pledger
are well established now
as DJ/Producers on the
up, whilst former Gatecrasher
resident Matt Hardwick
has been wooing crowds
for years. Gallery resident
Alex Anderson takes over
the mantle come 6am and
the exotically
named Firaz Snealz gets
the floor rocking early
doors.
Make your way into the
backroom and you’ll find
the coolest sounds of
the underground courtesy
of
hot London promoters IzitDance.
This will be their first
Gallery event of the year
and one that’s always
well worth the wait. Stuart
Patterson (think Faith
parties!) is the night’s
resident and he’ll be
joined by two veteran
spinners of the house
scene, Bill Brewster and
Terry Farley for some
late night jackin’ house.
Southampton spinner Jon
Barber makes the trip
up the M3 straight onto
the dancefloor
to get things moving at
the start.

November’s
Gallery listings have
had quite a trancey feel
to them over the past
4 weeks and the final
event of the month continues
this trend with the return
of the master, Eddie Halliwell
to Turnmills on Friday
26th November. Eddie’s
stature has grown over
the past few years and
he’s literally come from
nowhere to fully establish
himself on the DJ A-List
of the harder side of
trance. Well known for
his scratching and technical
ability, Eddie has become
a firm favourite at The
Gallery and he lines up
alongside Gallery residents,
Radio Presenters and hot
producers John Askew (Kiss
FM) and Gavyn Mytchel
(MOS Radio), who’ll be
keeping the trance beat
rolling. There’s also
time to fit in a Gallery
debut for German hero
Alex Morph, who backs
up his solid reputation
around Europe with a hugely
anticipated tech-trance
workout. The final set
of the night is left in
the hands of becomeone
resident Shaun Rowland,
who then literally leaves
the UK for a new life
in Oz the following day,
plus fellow becomeone
resident and star of the
future, Tim Davison makes
his 3rd Gallery outing
of 2004.
The final Gallery backroom
of the month is hosted
by Joy. If you don’t know
what this is by now, it’s
a Balearic based party,
programmed by Gallery
legend Steve Lee. Each
month Steve invites down
some of his favourite
residents from Ibiza (past
guests include Tania Vulcano,
Clive Henry and Sarah
Main) to bring the summertime
vibes to EC1 and this
week he plumbs for Seamus
Haji, who’s been rocking
El Divino this summer
alongside Pin Up spinner
Marcus Anthony. Sunglasses
and straw hats are optional,
but a good time is guaranteed.
